چکیده

In the industrial field, user behavior has been mainly addressed in terms of rational thinking. High-level cognitive processes investigated by Cognitive Engineering are described as logical or rational. We already proposed a cognitive multi-agent model that provides a framework for the peer userartifact highlighting the roles, responsibilities and resources of each pertinent entity involved in the human-machine hybrid system. This cognitive model was employed for various experiments in the cockpit that assessed Workload and Situation Awareness [10]. Techniques such as Eye Tracking were also used. Definitely, the cognitive model helps to understand user behaviors. However, we noticed behavioral differences between users that are hardly explainable only by the cognitive model. So we started to investigate the non-cognitive aspects of the users that are their emotions. This paper presents the integration of cognitive and emotional models that comprise on one hand users’ Situation Awareness and on the other hand users’ Self Awareness.

A Context-aware Architecture for Mental Model Sharing through Semantic Movement in Intelligent Agents

Recent studies in multi-agent systems are paying increasingly more attention to the paradigm of designing intelligent agents with human inspired concepts. One of the main cognitive concepts driving the core of many recent approaches in multi agent systems is shared mental models. In this paper, we propose an architecture for sharing mental models based on a new concept called semantic movement....

A Conceptual Framework for Human Decision Making within Agent Based Models

Agent based models of human systems, such as those found in behavioural economics, implement their agents intelligence through the use of simple rules. These models have proved to be worthwhile research tools. However, improving the outputs of these models will require a greater emphasis on the development of intelligence within the model agents. A deeper understanding of the cognitive process ...

Studying Emotion and Interaction between Autonomous Cognitive Agents in Simulated and Robotic Environments

The Psi theory of Dietrich Dörner (Dörner 1999, Dörner et. al. 2002) is an attempt at a unified architecture of cognition; originating in psychological modeling, it proposes functional models of representation, action regulation, emotion, memory and perception. While the classical cognitive architectures (ACT, see Anderson and Lebière 1998, Soar, see Laird, Newell, & Rosenbloom 1987, EPAM, see ...
